Text To Give Campaign
The Office of Homeless Solutions (OHS) in conjunction with the Department of Communications and Marketing, is excited to announce the implementation of a text campaign wherein residents can text the word CARES to 214-740-4886. Residents will then receive a direct link to this page, where they can choose from three ways to donate to the unsheltered community- via:
- Communities Foundation of Texas
- Giving Responsibly, via one of our partner organizations; or
- Giving to unsheltered service provider members of the local Continuum of Care
The purpose of this campaign is to reduce the effects of street charity. Download the Text To Give flyer and share with your community.

Give To The Communities Foundation of Texas
You can also support our homeless neighbors by contributing to the City of Dallas’ Office of Homeless Solutions Communities Foundation of Texas. Your tax-deductible contribution will be used for items to include emergency shelter, rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing, and diversion resources.

Give Responsibly
We understand the desire to give directly to individuals who approach you and ask for help. Whether it is providing a meal or spare change, doing so inadvertently encourages individuals to continue illegally soliciting and is a temporary solution to a more complex problem.
Make your gift of time and money count. Download our responsible giving fliers in English or Español, and please share with your community.
Give To Any Member In The All Neighbors Coalition
Opportunities to volunteer with the Office of Homeless Solutions are limited to temporary inclement weather sheltering, but there are many organizations across the City of Dallas that provide services to the unsheltered population throughout the year. Click here for a list of organizations that are members of the All Neighbors Coalition and are in need of high-demand items and volunteers throughout the year. We encourage you to reach out to them directly.

We offer many opportunities besides donating that help reduce homelessness. Learn more about volunteering and sheltering.
